In the 25 October – 2 November the city of Nuremberg was occupied by the biggest and the most successful South German contacts and news Fair Consumenta, which is equal by its extent to the annual Berlin Green Week. Cheese DŽIUGAS produced by Žemaitijos Pienas was also introduced in the Fair.

Universal program of the Fair allowed visitors to learn about innovations, which have been introduced by the more than 1000 companies. Each participant was able to taste, enjoy and to get the best recommendations how to use products directly from producers.

 

The idea of the main part of the fair Nuremberg International is to introduce the country, various communities and their activities. Nuremberg Lithuanian community had a great opportunity to introduce themselves and, therefore, Lithuania and its nature, as well as the possibilities for tourism, hospitality of Lithuanians and traditional Lithuanian food.

It was gratifying to watch the tasting of the 24 months ripened cheese DŽIUGASand to hear appreciations that cheese produced by Samogitians was a true delicacy for the Germans. Dressed in national costumes, Nuremberg Lithuanian community members feast Fair visitors revealing the uniqueness of hard cheese and its valuable properties.

Visitors also heard the legend of the giant Džiugas. Cheese named after this giant popularize Lithuania in all over the world.
